Florescent Lights
Florescent lights use less power than incandescant lighbulbs. one florescent lightbulb is equivalent to 13 incandescent lightbulbs. the only down side to florescent lightbulbs is that they are expensive and do not work with lights with a dimmer switch. you could seriously damage the light bulb.
a tree powered engine
This is a very far out idea for energy. We could have a piston full of burning firewood. It would pressurize the piston making the piston push out making a force that could turn a set of gears that could powerthe challenger center. Then the fire makes a vaccum and pulls the piston back to make it completely turn.
Research
- Switch to florescent lights to compare one florescant to 13 incandescent light bulbs
- Turn of all lights to save power at night
- Solar fans save about 10% of energy during summer
- Solar panels use no power from the grid
- Recycle and save up to about 50% of our garbage
- Turn of all objects that use up power and save about 10% energy
- Soil on roof lowers energy bill in winter and summer
- Windows on south of the challenger center heats up and saves up 10-20% of gas bill
- Hot rocks warm house at night and saves energy at night
- we could use a hydro dam and conserve energy with water but there are no streams in ther area
- we could use wind turbines but there is not alot of high wind speeds in this area
